About the Work
Camille Smith is a multimedia artist concentrating on ceramics and painting. She is influenced by her Southern upbringing, Cajun culture, and her father’s cooking. Through her work, Camille memorializes and familiarizes the importance of family recipes and cooking with her subject matter. These are of interest to Camille because of the universal need and consumption of food. She strives to portray the sentimentality of family tradition in the kitchen and the connections it brings. She has exhibited her work in various shows and venues in central Texas and is currently completing her thesis in pursuit of her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Texas State University.
About the Artist
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Camille moved to Austin, Texas with her family when she started primary school. She has exhibited her work around central Texas and is currently receiving her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in painting and a minor in Psychology.
